American Health Network Names Interim Managing Partner for Ohio

Indianapolis, Indiana - August 20, 2015 -- American Health Network (AHN), one of the country’s largest independent physician group practices, announced the appointment of Mark Buddie, MD as interim managing partner for its Ohio group practices, effective October 1, 2015. Dr. Buddie will function as representative of the company’s Ohio-based physicians by leading and carrying out the group’s strategic plan and vision.

Dr. Buddie has been a provider with AHN since 1998 and has been on the company’s board of directors since 2002. He is board-certified in Family Medicine as well as Hospice and Palliative Medicine and specializes in geriatrics and long-term care. Dr. Buddie graduated from Duke University and received his medical degree from The Ohio State University. His family practice residency was completed at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He is a certified medical director (CMD) and serves as the medical director for several skilled nursing facilities and a hospice program. His special areas of interest include dementia/Alzheimer's disease and palliative care.

One of the primary areas of focus for Dr. Buddie will be to help manage the company’s population health initiatives and its Accountable Care Organization (ACO) in Ohio. As one of the first ACOs in that state, AHN’s providers have been working collaboratively to coordinate and positively affect the quality of care to a population of over 9,000 Medicare beneficiaries.

Dr. Buddie will also have an active role in the development and implementation of AHN’s core mission and commitment to providing the highest quality care. “We’ve seen a great deal of change in the healthcare landscape – locally and nationally,” said Dr. Ben Park, president and chief executive officer of American Health Network.  “We feel that Mark will be a great addition to an already solid management team to help drive the needs and vision of our Ohio physicians so that we can ultimately provide better outcomes for our patients and communities.”
