Indiana Health Study
Help us make Indiana healthier for generations to come.
Here’s what we are doing.
The Indiana Health Study is collecting information about the population of Central Indiana as a way of helping to make our community healthier. The Indiana Health Study will allow researchers to learn more about chronic disease such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer that are common in our community. It may also lead to better ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat these diseases. The success of the Indiana Health Study depends on your participation.
People with chronic disease as well as people who do not have chronic disease are needed for the Indiana Health Study.
Here’s how it works.
- You participate
- We collect information
- Researchers find answers
- Everyone benefits
Here’s how to participate.

Acute Low Back Pain
Low back pain is a significant public health concern affecting most adults sometime during their lifetime. Although some drugs can be effective n treating this pain, not all patients achieve the results they need. Since the effectiveness of drugs commonly used to treat this potentially debilitating condition is limited, it is important to search for new drugs to help treat this condition.
Do you have moderate to severe low back pain that started in the last 30 days?
Do you also have pain that extends into your lower leg below the knee?
If YES, you may be interested in learning more about a clinical research study of a pain medication that is being evaluated for the treatment of acute low back pain.
The Study Purpose:
- To find out if an approved oral pain medication may be useful in treating people who are experiencing moderate to severe acute low back pain that extends down to the lower leg below the knee
- To compare the effects (both good and bad) against another approved pain medication
- You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Are a male or non-pregnant, non-lactating female, 18 years of age or older
- Are experiencing moderate to sever low back pain that extends down the leg, below the knee
- Have had a recent onset of pain, not longer then 30 days ago
Qualified study participants will:
- Be reimbursed for study-related expenses (i.e. travel)
- Be provided research-related medical care and medication at no cost
We are actively seeking participants for this study.
