A Medicare Advantage Plan is a type of Medicare health plan offered by a private company that contracts with Medicare to provide you with all your Part A and Part B benefits. Medicare Advantage Plans include Health Maintenance Organizations, Preferred Provider Organizations, Private Fee-for-Service Plans, Special Needs Plans, and Medicare Medical Savings Account Plans. Most Medicare Advantage Plans also offer prescription drug coverage.

Open enrollment for Medicare Advantage is October 15 — December 7, 2014. You can only join a plan during this period, and will be enrolled for the following year.
We want to make sure you are evaluating your options each year to make the decision that is right for you. For some people, Original Medicare is a good option, and for others, Medicare Advantage is the better option. It just depends on your health care and financial needs.
