CEO message to patients

March 30, 2020

Text

To our valued patients,

I understand the uncertainty and fear that many are experiencing right now because of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

While avoiding infection should be everyone's first priority, we’ve received many questions about our ability to help with other health problems. Rest assured that we are here for you.

All of our medical practices are open. And we continue to live our mission of keeping communities healthy and safe.

To make sure that all patients get the care they need, we’re isolating all possible COVID-19 patients to help keep the virus from spreading. We’re also asking all patients to call their doctor’s office before going in for previously scheduled appointments.

If you think you've been exposed to COVID-19 or need assistance in any way, call our hotline. A licensed nurse will give you a free COVID-19 screening and advise you about next steps. Call 1-877-590-0397, Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET.

I also urge you to stay informed. You’ll find reliable information about COVID-19 on the Optum website. Topics include key facts about the virus, ways to protect yourself and resources you can turn to for guidance and support.

Again, we are here for you. And we’re doing everything we can to keep you and your loved ones healthy and safe.

Be well,

Ben Park, MD
President and CEO, American Health Network, part of Optum
