Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow)

Text

Tennis elbow is a common injury. It happens when the tendons attached to the elbow get weak due to repeated motions or aging. This causes pain or tenderness where the forearm meets the elbow. Extending the wrist or arm may make the pain worse.

Treatment includes rest, ice and medications like aspirin or ibuprofen. Physical therapy, steroid shots and wearing an arm brace or wrist splint can also help. In serious cases or when non-surgical treatments don’t work, surgery may be needed.
