Spinal cord stimulator implant

Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) uses electrical impulses to ease chronic pain in the back, arms and legs. It’s believed that these impulses keep the brain from receiving pain signals.

SCS is a good choice for people who suffer from neuropathic pain (a disturbance of one or more nerves). It might also help if other treatments have failed. If SCS works, a surgeon can permanently implant an SCS device in the back to help manage pain.
