Here are some common questions and answers about accountable care organizations.

  • Accountable care organizations (ACOs) are groups of health care providers who work together with Medicare. At American Health Network (AHN), we help get you the care you need at the right time in the right setting.

Our Indiana ACO is called "AHN Accountable Care Organization, LLC." Our Ohio ACO is called "American Health Network of Ohio Care Organization, LLC."

Your doctor has agreed to take part in a Medicare Shared Savings ACO. They'll work closely with the rest of your care team within the ACO. We give you the support you need to stay healthy and well.

  • No. If you have traditional Medicare, you still have the right to use any doctor or hospital who accepts Medicare, at any time.
  • You will keep on getting the same rights enjoyed by all people with Medicare. Medicare will share medical information with your doctor’s ACO. This includes medical conditions, prescriptions and visits to the doctor.

This helps the ACO keep up with your medical needs and track how well the ACO is doing to keep you healthy.

Your privacy is very important to us. You can choose to not give your name and other personal information to Medicare.
