Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) refers to a group of diseases that cause breathing-related problems, such as emphysema, bronchitis and asthma. Smoking is a leading cause of these diseases but there are many other factors that can cause COPD. When detected early, COPD can be managed and its course often changed.

American Health Network (AHN) provides lung testing to find out if you have COPD and offers a COPD management program to help you in many of its offices. These offices have respiratory therapists on staff to test your lungs and work with you and your doctor to take care of your COPD.

We can help you manage your COPD

We offer the COPD management program in many of our offices. This program can dramatically reduce emergency room and hospital visits.

The benefits of AHN's COPD management program include:

  • Our respiratory therapists, who are teachers and coaches, use the latest testing equipment.
  • Our therapists work closely with your physician to make sure you are getting the right respiratory care.
  • Our patients with COPD get in-depth information, including lung testing, treatment plans, exercise, food guidelines and support groups.
  • Our COPD programs give you the knowledge and tools you need to take charge of your own disease and keep attacks from happening.
